Here's how we take away your waste and dispose of it correctly:
* Initial Assessment & Collection Planning:
* When you contact us, we'll discuss the type and volume of waste you need removed – whether it's garden debris, household clutter, office furniture, or general rubbish.
* We'll schedule a convenient collection time for our team.
* For larger clearances (like house or office clearances), we can offer on-site assessments to provide an accurate quote and plan the logistics.
* Safe and Efficient Collection:
* Our trained and experienced team arrives at your location in Barnet, serving London and the surrounding areas, with appropriate vehicles and equipment.
* We safely and efficiently load all designated waste, including bulky items, ensuring minimal disruption to your property.
* Our vehicles are equipped to handle various waste streams, ensuring proper segregation where necessary, even at the point of collection if feasible.
* Transport to Licensed Transfer Stations:
* Once collected, your waste is transported directly to a fully licensed waste transfer station. These facilities are regulated by the Environment Agency and are crucial for the proper sorting and processing of waste.
* At this stage, a Waste Transfer Note (WTN) is generated, legally documenting the transfer of waste from your premises to our control, providing a complete audit trail.
* Rigorous Sorting and Segregation:
* At the transfer station, waste undergoes meticulous sorting, both manually and using machinery. This is a critical step to identify and separate different material types.
* We segregate waste into various streams, including:
* Recyclables: Paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, glass, wood, etc.
* Green Waste: Garden clippings, branches, leaves.
* Inert Waste: Rubble, soil, concrete.
* Hazardous Waste: (If collected and clearly identified - requires special handling and disposal, often to a separate facility).
* General/Non-Recyclable Waste: Items that cannot currently be recycled or reused.
* Environmentally Compliant Disposal & Recovery (The Waste Hierarchy):
* Our disposal methods strictly follow the UK's waste hierarchy, prioritising the most environmentally sound options:
* Prevention & Reuse (where possible): For items from house/office clearances, we actively seek opportunities for reuse. Quality furniture, appliances, or other salvageable items may be donated to charities or refurbished.
* Recycling: Separated materials (e.g., plastics, metals, paper, wood, glass) are sent to specialist recycling facilities where they are processed and transformed into new products, conserving natural resources and reducing the need for virgin materials. Green waste is typically sent for composting.
* Energy Recovery: Waste that cannot be recycled or reused is sent to Energy from Waste (EfW) plants. Here, it is safely incinerated under controlled conditions to generate electricity or heat, diverting it from landfill and contributing to renewable energy sources.
* Disposal (Landfill as a last resort): Only a small percentage of residual waste that cannot be recycled or used for energy recovery is sent to licensed landfills. These sites are engineered to minimise environmental impact, with measures in place to manage leachate and gas emissions.
By adhering to this comprehensive process, we ensure that your waste is not just removed, but managed responsibly, legally, and with a strong commitment to environmental protection.
